Cell culture is the set of techniques for maintaining and growing cells outside their original tissue environment, under controlled survival conditions.
It is widely used in research to study the behaviour of cells and their response to different stimuli, as well as to produce recombinant proteins and drugs.
All our products are subjected to rigorous quality control tests (pH, osmolality, composition, homogeneity, glucose and sodium analysis, endotoxin, biological performance).
Cell culture reagents are essential components for the growth and maintenance of cells in vitro, such as culture media, serum and growth factors.
Other types of reagents, such as cell dissociation enzymes, will also be involved in maintaining cell quality.
Their quality therefore has a significant impact on the quality of cells in culture, underlining the importance of their conservation and proper use.
Salt solutions maintain the osmolarity of reagents used in the laboratory and have a buffering effect on pH.
They are widely used in the laboratory as washing solutions for cells prior to their dissociation or as reaction buffers for biochemical tests (ELISA) and other diagnostic techniques.
In microbiology, saline solutions are also used for the preparation of culture media and for the dilution of samples in microbiology tests.
Salt solutions are used: for the preparation of organ parts, during the dissociation process, to isolate cell suspensions or to prepare viral transport medium.

Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) is a little protein of 66kDa present in animal serum and makes up approximately 60% of all proteins.
Because of its negative charge, Bovine Serum Albumin binds water, salts, fatty acids, vitamins and hormones and carries these bound components between tissues and cells.
Albumins are frequently used as stabilizers for other solubilized proteins (e.g., labile enzymes).
Due to its high stability and less interference with biological activities, BSA is used on many biochemical applications such as Immunochemistry and Western-Blot or ELISA, in which it is used as a blocking reagent.

Antibiotics should not be used routinely but only for short-term applications as their continued use encourages the development of antibiotic-resistant strains.
In addition, some antibiotics can cross-react with cells and interfere with the cellular processes being studied.
