GMEM is designed for use with adherent cell lines. It was originally formulated for BHK 21 cells culture. The medium was developed by modifying BME formulation by adding tryptose phosphate and twice the normal concentration of amino acids and vitamins. Tryptose Phosphate Broth is a peptone derived by the mixed enzymatic hydrolysis of the milk protein casein. Biowest GMEM is proposed with L-Glutamine and without Tryptose Phosphate Broth.
