GMEM was originally formulated for the culture of BHK 21 cells, modifying the formulation of BME by adding Tryptose Phosphate and twice the concentration of amino acids and vitamins.
Biowest GMEM contains neither sodium bicarbonate nor Tryptose Phosphate Broth.

Addition of sodium bicarbonate powder (ref: P2060) : 2.75 g/l
