Gentamicin er en antibiotikum anvendes til at forebygge eller eliminere bakteriel kontaminering i Celle- og vævskultur. Dets spektrum includes gramnegative og grampositive bakterier. Gentamicin sulfat binder at den 30S subunit af bakteriel ribosomer forstyrrer bakteriel proteinsyntese.
