Biowest offers a non-pyrogenic water suitable for dissolving powdered cell culture media or preparing all necessary cell culture reagents.
The most common pyrogens are endotoxins, which are lipopolysaccharides (LPS) produced by Gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli. The presence of these molecules in cell culture reagents, as well as media or buffer, can modify cell biological effect/answer, in particular in immunology aera. Using pyrogen-free water in cell application avoids the endotoxin’s impact.
